The Super Eagles have secured their spot in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) with a game to spare, thanks to a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Ivory Coast in Abidjan.

Victor Osimhen’s crucial equalizer in the 81st minute ensured Nigeria earned a vital point, taking their tally to 11 points in Group D.

Despite trailing to Mohamed Tijani’s first-half header, the three-time African champions demonstrated resilience and determination to seal their qualification.

The result, combined with Libya’s 1-0 win over Rwanda, mathematically confirmed Nigeria’s place in the 2025 AFCON finals.

With Benin and Rwanda trailing behind, Nigeria’s lead is insurmountable, even if they lose their final match against Rwanda on November 18.

The Super Eagles will face Rwanda at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom, with their qualification already secured.
