Tinubu appoints Bukola Olopade as Director-General of National Sports Commission

Astute sports administrator, Bukola Olapade, has been appointed by the Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu, to head the National Sports Commission (NSC).

He is the second official of the recently revived NSC.

His appointment marks a significant development in the country’s sports administration bringing his wealth of experience to the role, having served as a two-term commissioner of youth and sports in Ogun State.

He also chaired the Local Organising Committee of the 2024 National Sports Festival, showcasing his capabilities in managing large-scale sports events.

Olopade’s appointment is part of a series of key appointments announced by the Presidency on Thursday. Other notable appointees include:

His experience and expertise will be invaluable in promoting sports growth and excellence in Nigeria.

As Chairman of the Local Organising Committee, he will oversee the successful hosting of the event, which is expected to showcase Nigeria’s sporting talent.
