Yoruba movie ‘Jagun Jagun’ scoops 7 nominations at Africa Movie Academy Awards

The Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) announced its nominations yesterday, with Nigerian-Yoruba film “Jagun Jagun” leading the pack with an impressive seven nods.

The producer of the movie, Femi Adebayo, announced this through his official X handle on Thursday.

The nominations include, (Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Achievement in Costume Design, Achievement in Production Design, Achievement in Make-up, Ousmane Sembene Award for Best Film in an African Language, Achievement in Visual Effects) among others.

Femi Adebayo, producer and actor in “Jagun Jagun,” expressed his gratitude on social media, saying, “Truly honored to receive these nominations and excited for every contributor in the nominated categories on the production of JAGUN JAGUN!!”

The AMAA awards recognize excellence in African filmmaking, and “Jagun Jagun’s” multiple nominations solidify its position as a standout production in the continent’s film industry.

The awards ceremony is set to take place later this year, with winners selected by a panel of industry experts.
