The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has vowed to implement its Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan 2.0, to transform Nigeria into a digital innovation powerhouse.

The agency said on its X platform on Sunday that it held a 2-day retreat for top management staff to facilitate the implementation of the strategic roadmap.

It noted that the primary objective of the retreat was to digitally empower Nigeria and promote inclusive economic growth, aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The Director-General of NTDA, Kashifu Inuwa, and top and middle management staff were in attendance, brainstorming on innovative ideas to drive the country’s digital transformation.

β€œThis endeavour aligns with the agency’s overarching mission to spearhead Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda, which is closely tied to the eight priority areas outlined in President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda,” a part of the statement reads.

According to the agency, its efforts were expected to have a positive impact on the country’s digital landscape, promoting economic growth and empowerment for all Nigerians.

The NITDA Strategic Roadmap and Action Plan (SRAP 2021–2024) is a comprehensive strategy developed on seven key elements to drive digital transformation and innovation within the country.

It focuses on areas such as digitisation, capacity building, and the promotion of a digital economy.

The SRAP 2021–2024 was designed to align with the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy for a Digital Nigeria, which includes pillars like developmental regulation, solid infrastructure, digital literacy, and the promotion of indigenous content.

According to the NTDA, one of the primary goals of the plan was to achieve 95 per cent digital literacy by 2030 and to build the capacity of one million technology developers over the next eighteen months.
