2 Die as Speeding Driver Loses Control on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

Two persons died on Sunday afternoon after a speeding driver lost control of his vehicle and veered off the Lagos-Ibadan highway.

The fatal crash occurred immediately after the Iperu-Ogere bridge, en route Sagamu-Interchange, Ogun State, at about 02:38 pm.

It was learnt that two male and one female adults were involved in the crash.

“Two male adults were confirmed dead and one female adult sustained injury,” the Federal Road Safety Corps spokesperson in Ogun, Florence Okpe, said.

Okpe said the driver of the Toyota car with registration number, JJJ25HS, had engaged in speeding.

“The drive lost control and ran into a drainage by the road side,” it was said.

The injured victim was taken to Victory Hospital, Ogere for medical attention while the corpses were deposited at the FOS morgue, Ipara.

Meanwhile, the Sector Commander of the FRSC in Ogun, Anthony Uga, had advised motorists to ”drive responsibly and shun excessive speeding.”
