11 Die in Plateau Terrorist Attack

Not less than 11 people lost their lives in Chisu village, Plateau State when terrorists set the community ablaze Tuesday night.

Chisu village is in Mangu Local Government Area of the state.

The suspected terrorists, it was learnt carried out the dastardly act in the night leading to loss of lives.

Hearing gunshots in the night, the frightened villagers, it was gathered, sought shelter in a house, they ran out of luck as the terrorists pursued them to their hiding place and set the house ablaze.

Michael Bulus, a resident of the Chisu hamlet, who managed to escape the attack, recounted to the Punch that the terrorists also ignited several other structures, including a church located along the Mangu-Bokkos Road, before fleeing the scene.

“Last night, terrorists attacked Chisu village of Mangu Local Government at about 11:00 pm.

“When the terrorists arrived in the community, there were sporadic gunshots, and the people started running. Some of them ran to a house belonging to a community leader. Unfortunately, the house was set ablaze by the terrorists, and 11 burnt bodies were later discovered this morning (Wednesday).

“The COCIN Regional Church Council Bwai along Mangu Bokkos road in the local government was also burnt by the terrorists along with other houses, vehicles, and tricycles before they fled the community”, he said.
