🚨 TERROR RETURNS TO KWARA: Terrorist Kill One, Kidnap Another in Oba Community — Schools Shut Down as Panic Grips Isanlu-Isin

Terrorists suspected to be bandits have struck again in Kwara State, storming the Ọba community along Correctional Centre Road in Isanlu-Isin Local Government Area, killing one person and abducting another.

The attack, which occurred on Tuesday evening, has thrown residents of Isanlu-Isin and surrounding communities into fresh fear and confusion, coming just hours after four kidnapped victims were freed in the same axis.

Confirming the incident on Wednesday night, Elder Oyin Zubair, Coordinator of the Joint Security Watch for Kwara South Senatorial District, disclosed that the four victims had been abducted along the Omu-Aran–Isanlu-Isin Road near the Correctional Centre on January 5, 2026.

They regained their freedom on Wednesday afternoon and are currently receiving medical treatment in hospitals across Ilorin and Omu-Aran.

“But in another twist of events, one person was killed and another one kidnapped yesterday evening on the Correctional Centre Road,” Zubair revealed.

The latest killing and abduction have paralyzed normal life in the area.

“Residents of Isanlu-Isin and their neighbours are in a panicking mood as a result of which some schools have closed down,” Zubair said.

Parents and school authorities have hurriedly shut down academic activities as a precautionary measure, with many residents fleeing the community for fear of being next.

As of the time of this report, the Kwara State Police Command is yet to issue any official statement on the fresh killing and abduction.

The attack marks another chapter in the escalating wave of terror sweeping through Kwara South, following previous incidents in Oba Isin, Kaiama, and Baruten LGAs, with communities now asking: How many more must die before the government acts?
