President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu have been lauded for prioritising youth empowerment and creating opportunities for young people across the country.

The commendation was given by Prince Adeniyi Olutimehin, President of the Greater Lagos Initiative, during the International Youth Day celebration held in Ikeja and hosted by the Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Akeem Olalekan Dauda.

Olutimehin praised the administration’s focus on youth inclusion, noting that President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda has already produced far-reaching initiatives, including the upward review of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) allowances, the establishment of the National Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) to provide interest-free loans for students, and grant schemes for innovators and young entrepreneurs.

He also applauded the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande; Lagos Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mobolaji Ogunlende; and Dauda for their roles in advancing youth-focused programmes.

β€œThese interventions are easing financial pressures, stimulating entrepreneurship, and positioning young Nigerians to compete on the global stage,” Olutimehin said, urging the youth to take advantage of the opportunities being created.
