Yoruba Nation: Group Condemns Invasion of Oyo Assembly

A self determination group, Yoruba Nation Global Directorate has utterly condemned the invasion of Oyo State House of Assembly by those claiming to be Yoruba Nation agitators

In a statement signed by the group’s Director, Princess Adeola Atayero Olamijulo, the YNGD said: “We received with extreme shock that some fully armed individuals claiming to be Yoruba Nation agitators invaded the Oyo State Government establishments on Saturday, 13 April, 2024.

“We at the Yoruba Nation Global Directorate, a Yoruba Nation Self-determination organisaton would like the world to know that we utterly condemn any act of violence towards the properties and towards our brothers and sisters serving under the Oyo State government.”

The group maintained that its position on Yoruba Nation’s emancipation followed the national, and international laws and diplomacy.

“These are of public knowledge and those who have been attending our meetings and following our activities can attest to the fact that we are indeed a non-violent organization.

“We, therefore, utterly condemn any act of insurrection by any group claiming to be Yoruba Nation agitators”, the statement added.

YNGD pleaded with Yoruba citizens to strictly adhere to the Omoluabi ethos in their quest for Yoruba sovereignty.

“We distance ourselves from ‘Janduku’ behaviour to achieve our legitimate expectations, and we consider all acts of violence to be repulsive and repugnant”, the group stated, saying “it does not represent who we are, and how we do things.”
