What We Will Do to Contain Rising Prices -Tinubu

November 29, 2023 1 min read

President Bola Tinubu today presented the 2024 budget appropriation to the National Assembly.

During his presentation, he outlined the economic challenges his administration aimed to address, beginning with the acknowledgment of the impact of the fuel subsidy removal on the Nigerian people.

The president also addressed a pressing concern affecting the nation and its citizensβ€” the issue of escalating prices.

The consistent surge in the prices of essential goods and commodities had been a significant concern for the average Nigerians in their daily life.

To arrest this situation, the president detailed the measures his administration planned to implement to mitigate this phenomenon, aiming to alleviate the burden on the Nigerian populace.

He said: β€œTo contain the rising domestic prices, we will ensure effective coordination of fiscal and monetary policy measures, and collaborate with sub-national governments to address structural factors driving inflation in Nigeria.”

This was the president’s first annual budgetary presentation to the National Assembly.
