In a bid to strengthen regional security, the Southwest Governors’ Forum has agreed to establish a joint team to coordinate surveillance and monitoring efforts.

This move aims to counter emerging threats from groups like ISWAP, which pose a significant risk to peace and stability in the region.

The decision was reached during a meeting of the Forum, hosted by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the Lagos House in Ikeja. Governors from Oyo, Ondo, Ekiti, Ogun, and Osun states were also in attendance.

The joint team will focus on synchronizing security operations across the region, ensuring a more robust response to potential threats.

By working together, the Governors aim to safeguard the Southwest and maintain a secure environment for residents.
