A disturbing incident has unfolded in Lacey, Washington, where two parents, Ihsan Ali and his wife, Zahraa Ali, have been arrested and charged with attempted murder for allegedly trying to choke their 17-year-old daughter to death.

The attack occurred outside Timberline High School, where the girl is a student.

According to police reports, the girl had refused an arranged marriage with an older man in another country, which led to her father threatening her with an “honor killing.” On October 18, the girl ran away from home and sought help from school staff.

However, her parents followed her to the school and allegedly attacked her outside the facility.

The father began choking the girl “to the point where she had lost consciousness,” while other students, including her boyfriend, tried to intervene.

“It was pretty angering. All the kids were screaming, yelling,” said Josh Wagner, a Good Samaritan who stopped to help. Wagner grappled with Ihsan and held him down until police arrived.

The incident prompted a school lockdown, and school staff refused to let the girl’s parents inside the building.

The girl’s boyfriend had previously obtained a temporary protective order against her parents due to past issues.

The school has arranged a safe place for the girl to stay while police investigate the incident.
