Video: Chuks arrested for Illegal dumping of refuse in Lagos

Lagos State Commissioner for Environment, Tokunbo Wahab, took to X to announce the arrest of Mr. Chuks for illegally dumping over ten fully loaded refuse bags at Abati Bus Stop along Shasha Road, Akowonjo.

According to the report, Mr. Chuks was caught in the act on February 7, 2025, at approximately 11:07 p.m., using a Mercedes Benz ML 350 with plate number SMK 313 GT to transport and dispose of the waste.

During questioning, Mr. Chuks claimed to have paid for waste collection services through his Private Sector Participant (PSP), but failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for dumping the waste at an unauthorized location.

He also refused to disclose his residential address.

The suspect will be prosecuted under the Lagos State Environmental Management and Protection Law of 2017 to ensure compliance with waste management regulations.
