Tinubu depart Nigeria for Equatorial Guinea

President Bola Tinubu is set to depart Nigeria to Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, at the invitation of President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo.

The President will depart Abuja on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, to meet with Mbasogo at the Presidential Villa in Malabo.

This was disclosed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity, Chief Ajuri Ngelale, on Tuesday.

Equatorial Guinea is one of the smallest Central African country comprising the Rio Muni mainland and 5 volcanic offshore islands.

Anjuri highlighted that the two leaders will engage in discussions on bilateral issues specifically oil and gas, security among others.

The statement added, β€œThe President will be accompanied on the trip by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and other members of his cabinet who will be involved in the signing of agreements and review of opportunities to improve bilateral relations.”
