In a major operation, the Lagos State Taskforce has apprehended 53 suspected drug dealers in Gowon Estate, Ipaja, targeting illicit drug activities that have plagued the area.

The sting operation, which was executed after weeks of surveillance, focused on notorious black spots for drug distribution, including the 31 Road Junction, Bless Jah Street, Adenle Crescent, Owo Omo Osho Street, and parts of Okunola Road in Mosan-Okunola LCDA, Alimosho LGA.

During the raid, they uncovered some illicit substances, including Colorado, marijuana, tramadol capsules, codeine syrups, and suspected Canadian loud.

Additionally, tools used in the drug trade, such as weighing scales and marijuana crushers, were seized.

According to officials, the dealers targeted young men and women, luring them into the illicit trade with cash and incentives.

Those who resisted were reportedly harassed and threatened by cult gang members operating in the area.

The Lagos State Taskforce has reaffirmed its commitment to ridding the state of drug-related activities and ensuring the safety of its residents.

All suspects are currently in custody and will face prosecution.

This operation is part of the Lagos State government’s efforts to combat drug abuse and related crimes in the state. The Government has pledged to continue working tirelessly to ensure that Lagos remains a safe and secure place for its residents.
