Southwest Summit Kicks Off in Akure with Renewed Call for Regional Development

The much-anticipated Southwest Summit has officially commenced at The Dome, Akure, Ondo State, bringing together governors, traditional rulers, policymakers, and development stakeholders from across the region to chart a unified path for progress.

Held under the theme “Building the Southwest We Deserve,” the summit focuses on strengthening regional cooperation, promoting good governance, and addressing key developmental challenges such as insecurity, infrastructure gaps, education, and economic diversification.

The summit, which serves as a platform for policy dialogue and strategic planning, also aims to explore innovative solutions to regional challenges and reaffirm the commitment of leaders to collective development.

Participants are expected to deliberate on actionable policies and programs that can foster industrialization, boost investment, and enhance social welfare across the Southwest.
