The Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, has appointed Rev. Samuel Oluwatosin Owoade as the first-ever Palace Chaplain. This historic appointment aims to establish a structured Christian worship service within the palace

According to Oba Olaoye, Rev. Owoade’s appointment was made “in accordance with the leading of the Holy Spirit” after extensive consultations.

The Soun believes this appointment will bring more efficiency and effectiveness in spiritual activities within the palace

Rev. Owoade will work closely with the King, coordinating Christian worship services and serving as a spiritual pathfinder in the palace.

The palace now has a structured religious leadership system, comprising the Palace Chief Imam, Palace Chaplain, and Araba Oluawo, each responsible for overseeing religious activities within their respective faith traditions.

Oba Olaoye urged Rev. Owoade to live up to expectations, stating, “His Imperial Majesty Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye Orumogege lll has… appointed Rev Samuel Oluwatosin Owoade as the Chaplain of the Palace. His choice was reached after much consultation”

Rev. Owoade, formerly the Minister-in-Charge of New Covenant Baptist Church, Aduin, Ogbomoso, brings a wealth of experience and academic credentials to his new role, having attended the University of Ibadan, Nigerian Baptist Theological Seminary, and Kwara State University.
