Senator Yayi’s decision to award Ogun projects to an Igbo contractor has sparked outrage among Yoruba groups and indigenous people of Ogun state.

The controversy has raised questions about the senator’s commitment to transparency and accountability, and his priorities as a legislator.

However, He has described the people’s narrative as “mischievous” and “exposing their naivety”.

He also emphasized that as a legislator, it is not his responsibility to award contracts to contractors.

He noted that his primary concern is facilitating projects on behalf of Ogun West people, ensuring that the projects are delivered to specifications and standards for the betterment of the people.

He believes that those spinning “outlandish claims” are trying to set the people against themselves and not the senator.

The senator’s spokesperson, Olalekan, emphasized that Senator Adeola’s continuous efforts at rehabilitating and reconstructing inner roads, building schools, primary health centers, ICT centers, and other projects, are what truly matter.
