A private aircraft carrying approximately 10 individuals, including very important personalities (VIPs), has crashlanded in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

According to a report by Channels TV, the jet, with registration number N580KR, experienced a mishap on Friday around 11:00 am at Samuel Ladoke Akintola Airport, overshooting the runway and coming to a halt in a nearby bush, but no fatalities or injuries were reported.

In response to the incident, Carol Adekotujo, spokesperson for the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) stated: β€œIt was a private plane from Abuja. It landed safely but overshot the runway. There was no casualty.”

Following the emergency landing, firefighting teams and rescue personnel from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) were promptly dispatched to the scene to ensure safety of the passengers and assess the situation.

Tunji Oketunmbi, a representative of the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau, said that he would provide further details on the matter, but he’s yet to do so at the time of this report.
