President Tinubu Approves 21 New Appointments, Writes Senate for Confirmation

The Senate has recieved a letter from President Bola Tinubu seeking confirmation of nomination of 19 commissioners of the National Population Commission (NPC).

The appointees include Emmanuel Eke (Abia), Clifford Zirra (Adamawa) Chidi Ezeoke (Anambra), Isa Buratai (Borno), Alex Ukam (Cross River), Blessyn Brume-Ataguba (Delta) and Jeremiah Nwankwegu (Ebonyi)

Others are Tony Aiyejina (Edo), Ejike Ezeh (Enugu), Abubakar Damburam (Gombe), Uba Nnabue (Imo), Dogon Garba (Kaduna), Aminu Tsanyawa (Kano), Yori Afolabi (Kogi) and Olakunle Sobukola (Ogun).

The rest are Temitayo Oluwatuyi (Ondo), Ogiri Henry (Rivers) and Saany Sale (Taraba).

Additionally, the President requested that the red chamber approve the nominations of Babajide Fasina (South-West), Enorense Amadasu (South-South), and Bashir Indabawa (North-West) as NPC commissioners.

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) was given two weeks to provide a report on the nomination by the Senate, which was chaired by Senator Godswill Akpabio.
