Policing/ Security: Makinde, Ribadu, Others for Retreat

A 2-day retreat with the current and past Inspectors-General of Police and other stakeholders on security issues will hold from Monday, August 21 to Wednesday, 23 in Ibadan, the Γ’yΓ³ State capital.

The retired and experienced officers will brainstorm on how best to intervene in ensuring strategic and effective policing in Nigeria.

The Police Service Commission’s spokesman, Ikechukwu Ani, said that the retreat was expected to attract all retired Inspectors-General of Police; the National Security Adviser, AIG Nuhu Ribadu (rtd), the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Dr. Solomon Arase and the Acting Inspector General of Police, Dr. Olukayode Egbetokun. His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makind is the chief host.

Ani explained that Alhaji Aliyu Attah GCON, retired Inspector General of Police and Chairman of the Committee of Retired Inspectors-General of Police, is the convener of the retreat, stressing that it was the first in the history of the committee.
