The divisional police officer of Owode Egba has arrested two suspects, Agbo Jeremiah, 34, and Sunday Ngbuta, 29, for conspiracy and vandalism related to the IBEDC installation wires and iron in the Ogunmakin area.

According to the police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, the arrest followed a signal from a driver who was conveying the suspects and the stolen items.

Odutola stated that the police officers on duty flagged down the vehicle to search it, leading to the arrest of the suspects and recovery of the stolen items.

The incident began when operatives from the Safer Highway reported encountering two men carrying rolls of cable wires and iron rods near Macpherson University.

The men’s request for help in transporting the items raised suspicions that the wires might be stolen.

Upon arriving at the overhead bridge at Ogunmakin, the driver signaled the police officers on duty and informed them about his suspicions.

The police then flagged down the vehicle and conducted a search, which led to the arrest of the two suspects.

Photographs of the stolen items were taken, and the suspects could not provide satisfactory answers as to how they obtained the items.

Odutola noted that the suspects are currently being interrogated, and further investigation is ongoing.
