  1. Sultan Siddiq Abubakar III of Sokoto: Sir Siddiq Abubakar III, GCON, KBE (15 March 1903 – 1 November 1988) was a Nigerian Muslim leader (Sarkin Musulmi). He was the 17th Sultan of Sokoto between 17 June 1938 and 1 November 1988, making him the longest-reigning Sultan

He was the first President-General of the NSCIA, serving from its inception in 1973.

  1. Ibrahim Dasuki: He served as the Secretary-General and later became the Sultan of Sokoto, he became the President-General of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) in 1988.
  2. Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar: He has been serving as the President-General of the NSCIA since 2006, and is currently the Sultan of Sokoto.
