Passport Backlogs: Nigerians Hail Interior Minister’s 2-Week Ultimatum to Immigration

Posting pictures from the meeting on his official X account on Thursday, he captioned, “As part of swift measures to remove all bottlenecks in the acquisition of passports and immigration documents, I engaged service providers to the immigration service to ensure the backlogs of applications are cleared within the next two weeks.”

However, hundreds of Nigerians on X have flooded the post’s comment section to pour encomiums on the minister over the development.

According to them, the move was a good step in the right direction in ensuring an end to the frustration and inconvenience that countless Nigerians had faced due to delay in acquiring essential travel and immigration documents.

Reacting to the post, an X user, @Bello_Teewhy wrote, “This is the roadmap to greatness. Thank you, @BTOofficial , for the true representation.”

Also reacting to the development, another user, @Abdulahilade tweeted, “HM isn’t playing at all. He is walking the talk to ensure all bottlenecks around the acquisition of Nigeria passports are removed. Kudos!”
