Oyebanji gives nod to new technical teams for Ekiti United and Ekiti Queens

The Ekiti State Governor, Abiodun Oyebanji, approves new management teams for Ekiti United and Ekiti Queens ahead of next season campaign.

The Technical Adviser to the Governor on Sports Development, Olusola Osetoba, disclosed this in a statement on Monday in Ado-Ekiti.

She said that Akin Olowookere is the new Head Coach of Ekiti United FC while Candy Jacob is the new Head Coach of Ekiti Queens FC.

Other coaching crew members for Ekiti Queens FC are Team Manager Moji Ogunsakin, Assistant Coach 1 Adewumi Taiwo, Assistant Coach 2 Bailey Abimbola, and Goalkeeper Trainer Alabi Emmanuel.

This development marks a significant step towards revitalizing the teams’ fortunes and restoring Ekiti’s pride in Nigerian football.

Ekiti United football club currently plays in the Nigeria National League, a second division of Nigeria football league while Ekiti Queens FC makes their debut in the Nigeria Women’s Football League Premiership in 2023/24 season. The team rose from the second division, NWFL Championship, in 2023, finishing as Group A runners-up.

The appointment of these nΓ©w professionals marks a significant milestone in Ekiti state’s commitment to developing its Football infrastructure and talents
