A disturbing incident occurred in Ilesa, Osun State, where a group of thugs allegedly led by Hon. Olawale Akerele, a PDP legislator representing Ilesa West, attacked Engr. Oluremi Omowaiye, a former Commissioner for Works and Transport, and several other members of the All Progressives Congress (APC)

The attack, which took place during Omowaiye’s political consultations in his hometown, left many APC supporters wounded.

This incident has sparked widespread condemnation, with many calling for increased security measures to prevent such attacks in the future.

In a related incident, the Chief of Staff to the Osun State Speaker, Hon. Sunkanmi Obisesan, was also attacked by thugs in Ilesa, and is currently receiving treatment at Wesley Hospital.

The APC has accused the PDP of sponsoring the thugs responsible for the attacks, while the PDP has denied any involvement.

The incidents have raised concerns about the escalating violence in the state and the need for urgent intervention to prevent further bloodshed.
