Ondo State marked a major milestone in its security drive today as Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa commissioned the new Amotekun Command & Control Centre and Training Auditorium in Akure. The governor emphasized that protecting lives and property remains a top priority under his administration’s OUR EASE agenda, praising the Amotekun Corps, particularly Commander Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, for their dedication, sacrifice, and innovative approaches to security.

The new Command & Control Centre is designed to boost intelligence gathering and rapid response capabilities, while the Training Auditorium provides a modern space for both tactical and theoretical instruction. Governor Aiyedatiwa also announced the approval for 500 new Amotekun recruits, signaling a renewed commitment to strengthening the state’s security apparatus. He paid tribute to the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, describing him as the visionary behind the Amotekun initiative.

Security chiefs, including the Commissioner of Police, the NSCDC Commandant, and the DSS Director, applauded the governor’s unwavering support, noting that it has contributed to making Ondo one of the most peaceful states in the country. The event also hosted the maiden Annual General Meeting of the Amotekun Cooperative, further highlighting the organization’s growing institutional capacity.
