The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, has charged newly installed chiefs in Oyo State to utilize their positions as traditional title holders to promote unity, peace, and progress in Ibadanland.

Oba Olakulehin gave this charge when he conferred honorary Chieftaincy titles on some Ibadan eminent personalities and their wives at his palace, Oke Aremo, Ibadan.

The recipients of the titles included Sulaiman Ajewole as Aare and Yeye Atunluse of Ibadanland, and Abisoye Ayoyimika and Olusola Fagade as Aare and Yeye Asojuoba of Ibadanland, respectively.

The monarch disclosed that the title holders had made significant contributions to the unity, progress, and development of Ibadanland. He stated, “The conferment of the titles on you is in recognition of your assistance to the progress of Ibadanland, which I believe will spur you to do more.”

Oba Olakulehin emphasized the importance of the new chiefs using their positions to foster unity, peace, and progress in Ibadanland.

He said, “Use your present position as traditional title holders to foster unity, peace, and progress in Ibadanland as the accredited representatives of Olubadan of Ibadanland.”

The occasion was attended by several dignitaries, including the former Governor of Oyo State and the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, and the Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and the Creative Arts, Hannatu Musa Musawa.
