“No Child Should Go to Bed Hungry” – President Tinubu tells Macron

President Bola Tinubu has emphasized the importance of addressing hunger and malnutrition among children in Africa.

During his state visit to France, Tinubu told French President Emmanuel Macron, “No child should go to bed hungry in the world 21st century… If an African child is assured of a good sandwich in the classroom or one egg a day, there will be no fear of learning.”

Tinubu’s three-day visit to France aims to strengthen bilateral ties and foster collaboration in critical areas such as agriculture, security, education, health, energy transition, and youth development.

He is accompanied by his wife, Oluremi Tinubu.

The visit includes ceremonial receptions, bilateral meetings, and a session of the France-Nigeria Business Council, which promotes private-sector involvement in economic development.

The two leaders are expected to discuss initiatives aimed at boosting youth competencies in automation, entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership.

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu will also discuss her Renewed Hope Initiative with French First Lady Brigitte Macron, focusing on empowering women, children, and vulnerable populations.
