October 4, 2023 1 min read

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency, (NiMet) has alerted the public on the possibility of deterioration in visibility in some northern states as a result of observed dust haze propagated into the country.

NiMET in a statement said in the next 24 hours the expected strong winds that would be accompanied with dust could further reduce horizontal visibility, especially in Katsina , Kano, , Nguru, Jigawa Potiskum and Maiduguri

The weather watch agency, therefore, advised members of the public to take necessary precautions due to dust particles presently in suspension over the atmosphere.

Individuals with respiratory ailments are advise to protect themselves as the current weather condition is not good for their health.

Airline operators are also advised to avail themselves of weather reports from NiMet for effective planning in their operations.
