Nigeria’s Super Eagles soar to victory in 2025 AFCON qualifiers

The Super Eagles of Nigeria made a triumphant start to their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaign with a convincing 3-0 win over Benin Republic.

The match, played on Saturday, September 07, 2024, saw Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen shine as Nigeria took the top spot in Group D.

Lookman, who has been in impressive form, grabbed a brace, scoring in both halves to give Nigeria a comfortable lead. Victor Osimhen, who came off the bench, added the third goal, sealing the victory for the Super Eagles.

The win sets Nigeria up nicely for their next fixture against Rwanda on Tuesday, September 10.

With this confident start, the Super Eagles will be looking to build momentum and secure their spot in the 2025 AFCON tournament.
