The Minister of Interior, Hon. Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on Thursday inspected the newly established passport personalisation and production centralisation centre as part of ongoing reforms in the nation’s identity and travel document system.

The centralisation initiative, according to the minister, is designed to bring Nigeria’s passport production processes in line with global best practices, ensuring efficiency, transparency, and enhanced security features.

Tunji-Ojo emphasised that the project reflects President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to institutional reforms across ministries and agencies, with a focus on improving service delivery to Nigerians at home and abroad.

The minister noted that the centralisation would reduce delays, strengthen data management, and align Nigeria’s passport system with international standards adopted by leading countries.

Observers have commended the administration for driving reforms through ministers like Tunji-Ojo, alongside counterparts such as Nyesom Wike in the FCT and Festus Keyamo in Aviation, who are actively restructuring their ministries for greater public impact.
