Nigerian international forward Victor Boniface narrowly escaped a devastating car accident in Germany on Sunday, just hours after scoring the winning goal for Bayer Leverkusen in their 2-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt at the BayArena.

The striker took to Instagram to share a video of the damaged car, showing significant damage to the right side of the vehicle.

The footage also revealed Boniface’s injured hand, dripping with blood.

Despite the severity of the crash, Boniface appeared to be in good spirits, expressing gratitude for his safety. “God is the greatest,” he captioned the video.

Boniface’s impressive form since joining Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2023 has been a highlight of the Bundesliga season.

His winning goal against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday cemented his team’s position as champions.

Details of the accident remain scarce, but the Nigerian football community breathed a collective sigh of relief upon learning of Boniface’s safety.

Bayer Leverkusen officials and teammates have yet to comment on the incident, but fans and well-wishers flooded social media with messages of support and gratitude for Boniface’s narrow escape.

The near-tragic event serves as a poignant reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of appreciating every moment.

As Boniface recovers from his injuries, his fans and the football world await his return to the pitch, where he continues to make waves in the Bundesliga.
