The Federal Government has declared Tuesday, October 1, 2024, a public holiday to commemorate Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day.

Minister of Interior Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo made the announcement on behalf of the government.

Tunji-Ojo congratulated Nigerians at home and abroad, praising their resilience and hard work. “Their sacrifices will not be in vain,” he assured.

He reiterated the need for Nigerians to reflect on the β€œlabour of our heroes past and be inspired for the tasks ahead, realizing that a Nigeria of our dream can only be built when we unite.”
