The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has summoned Nigerian entertainer Darlington Okoye, aka Speed Darlington, to appear at its headquarters in Abuja for questioning.

The agency’s invitation follows a viral video where Speed Darlington claimed to have slept with a 15-year-old virgin.

In a letter dated May 28, 2025, NAPTIP’s Head of Cybercrime Response Team, Ngamaraju Mangzha, requested that Speed Darlington appear at the agency’s Wuse Zone 5 office on Friday at 9:00 am.

The agency warned that failure to respond to the invitation may lead to further action.

“Mr. Darlington Okoye (AKA Speed Darlington) is urged to respond to the official invitation issued on May 28, 2025, regarding a viral video and others in which he admitted to sexually abusing a minor. Failure to respond may lead to further action,” NAPTIP stated.

Speed Darlington has claimed innocence, saying, “If I knew 15 would get me this much attention, I for say 12 make una head catch fire.

“Na because I dey Southern Nigeria, would you come at me like this if we were in Sokoto?” He also alleged that he was being controversial and joking when he made the statement.

NAPTIP has not confirmed whether Speed Darlington has received the invitation, and the entertainer has yet to respond to the agency’s letter.
