Miyetti Allah Vigilante Not Welcome in South-West – Yoruba Groups

January 27, 2024 2 min read

The Yoruba Regional Alliance of Self Determination Groups across the world has described the establishment of the Nomad Vigilante group by Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore as an invitation to anarchy.

The association made this declaration while addressing a press conference on Wednesday in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, the Fulani Socio-Cultural Association, last week inaugurated a Nomad Vigilante group in Nasarawa State.

The pan-Yoruba association has, however, described the development as a recipe for chaos and anarchy.

Chairman and Secretary of the association, Bashorun Kunle Adesokan and Architect Opeoluwa Akinola, respectively, urged the Federal Government not to allow the vigilante outfit.

“Anyone who is interested in the security of their livestock should buy a piece of land and build a ranch to quarantine their animals within a defined space, and organize their security within those boundaries.

“The Federal Government of Nigeria is hereby put on notice that this is a recipe for anarchy as we shall not accept it under any guise.

“The result, of course will be predictable anarchy.

“All parts of Yorubaland are advised accordingly. Under no circumstances will they be welcome or accepted anywhere in Yorubaland. Whoever is toying with that thought of deploying them to Yorubaland should immediately perish the thought.

“We must all remember what caused the ‘Operation Wetie’ in the 1960s and the “June 12″ crisis in the 1990s. Both were the result of the Fulani’s underestimation of Yoruba resolve to resist the tyranny of the North,” the association said.
