The Maritime Workers Union of Nigeria has congratulated the Minister of Marine & Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola; the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike and other ministers who were recently inaugurated by President, Bola Tinubu.
In a statement on Wednesday, signed by the Head of Media, MWUN, John Ikemefuna, the President-General of the union, Adewale Adeyanju, said the appointment of Oyetola did not come as a surprise, considering his unparalleled performance as the immediate past governor of Osun State.
“The appointment of Oyetola as the first minister of the newly created Ministry of Marine & Blue Economy did not come as a surprise, considering his unparalleled performance as the immediate past Executive Governor of Osun State.
“His unwavering passion for the development of the state, hard work, and transparency remain indelible in the hearts of the people. The union believed that the former governor would bring to bear on the ministry, given his wealth of experience towards making the Marine & Blue Economy Ministry first amongst equals; and for the purpose with which it is created, to add core values to the generation of the nation’s economy,” he noted.
Adeyanju also described the minister of FCT as one personality whose numerous achievements in the state couldn’t be over-emphasised.
He described Wike as a builder of projects, whose doggedness for development stood him out amongst equals.
“His taste of aesthetic is unique, little wonder he has turned Port Harcourt into a colourful city to behold,” he added.
The MWUN boss also described the Minister of Transportation Saidu Alkali as someone whose political sojourn marked his success and achievements while he held sway.
