Liverpool launched their 2025/26 Premier League campaign in thrilling fashion with a 4-2 comeback win over Bournemouth at Anfield on Friday night.

The Cherries made a bright start and shocked the Kop when they took the lead early in the first half, capitalizing on a defensive lapse. Liverpool responded quickly, with Luis Díaz pulling them level after a sweeping attacking move that reignited the atmosphere inside the stadium.

The second half was a rollercoaster as Bournemouth restored their advantage, punishing another moment of slack defending. But Jürgen Klopp’s men showed resilience, pressing high and creating waves of pressure that eventually broke the visitors’ resistance. Darwin Núñez struck to equalize, setting up a tense final stretch.

With the match finely balanced at 2-2, Federico Chiesa, making his competitive debut in a Liverpool shirt, fired the Reds ahead with a composed finish in the 82nd minute. Just minutes later, Mohamed Salah put the game beyond doubt, latching onto a quick counterattack to seal a 4-2 victory.

The result not only gave Liverpool a winning start but also highlighted their attacking depth, with Chiesa impressing on debut and Salah continuing his remarkable consistency. For Bournemouth, it was a spirited performance that showed promise, though defensive frailties ultimately cost them.
