Mudashiru Obasa, the former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, made a dramatic return to the Assembly complex on Thursday.

He declares, “I’ve resumed, and I remain the Speaker of the Assembly”

Obasa’s bold statement came after he arrived at the complex under heavy security, accompanied by police officers and operatives of the State Security Service.

This move has sparked a leadership crisis, as Mojisola Lasbat Meranda was elected as the new Speaker after Obasa’s removal on January 13.

Obasa’s return is seen as a challenge to the current leadership which may lead to crisis among the honorable members in the house.

However, the situation remains developing and unfold with Obasa’s actions being seen as a direct challenge to the current leadership.
