Lagos State is on the cusp of another transformative development, as the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development announces the public display and inspection of the draft Ibeju-Lekki Model City Plan.

This 20-year development strategy, spanning from 2024 to 2043, aims to convert Ibeju-Lekki into a thriving, sustainable city, focusing on infrastructure, land use, and other vital aspects.

The Ibeju-Lekki Model City Plan is part of Lagos State’s broader vision to create well-planned, economically vibrant, and sustainable cities.

Residents, businesses, and stakeholders are encouraged to review the draft plan and provide feedback between February 26th and April 4th, 2025, at the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Secretariat, Igando-Oloja.

This development initiative is reminiscent of the Eko Atlantic City project, which transformed a coastal area into a modern city.

Eko Atlantic City, built on land reclaimed from the Atlantic Ocean, is designed to be a financial hub, with a projected population of 250,000 residents and a daily flow of 150,000 commuters.

The Lagos State Government, through the Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, invites the public to participate in shaping the future of Ibeju-Lekki.

By providing input on the draft plan, stakeholders can help create a city that is economically vibrant, sustainable, and beneficial to all.

Key features of the Ibeju-Lekki model city plan 20-year development strategy (2024-2043), focus on infrastructure, land use, and other crucial aspects, aims to create a well-planned, economically vibrant, and sustainable city, public input sought between February 26th and April 4th, 2025.
