Two Chinese Nationals has been reportedly kidnapped in the Kemta/Abule-Owu area along Onigbedu Road in Ogun State.

The victims identified as Chen Wenguang and Liang Ding, were abducted on Sunday around 1:45pm.

The YorubaTimes learnt that the Chinese Nationals iaffiliated with the Good One Carton Company in the area got into the hands of the kidnappers when they left the company premises to visit a friend without the assigned security guards.

Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the state command, who confirmed the incidents said the kidnappers had been in touch with the management of the company to demand a ransom for their release.

She said, β€œOur operatives in the Ewekoro Division, with the assistance of local vigilantes, military personnel from the Social Orientation and Safety Corps, local hunters, and other security groups, thoroughly searched the entire KΓ©mta Village forest for the duo but were unable to find them.”

She emphasized that everything is being done to stay on top of the situation

However, kidnapping situation in Ogun State is a serious concern, with recent incidents reported. In March 2024, nine individuals were remanded for allegedly kidnapping and killing six girls for money rituals.

Additionally, random kidnapping and cultism have been identified as significant security challenges in the state.

To address these issues, residents implore the State Governor to increased security measures.
