Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, also known as Yayi, has expressed strong opposition to the idea of immortalizing Humphrey Nwosu, the former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Yayi’s stance is rooted in his personal experience of losing his immediate junior brother due to Nwosu’s alleged failure to carry out his duties as INEC chairman.

According to Yayi, Nwosu’s inaction at a critical moment in Nigeria’s democratic history is unforgivable.

“He failed at the critical moment when he ought to serve this democracy,” Yayi stated.

This sentiment suggests that Yayi holds Nwosu responsible for the consequences of his actions, or lack thereof, during his tenure as INEC chairman.
