Iran Leave Heartfelt Note in Los Angeles Locker Room After World Cup Draw with Belgium: “We Leave with Dignity”

Iran’s national football team left a handwritten note of gratitude in the SoFi Stadium locker room following their 0-0 draw with Belgium, thanking Los Angeles for its hospitality and declaring that they leave with dignity .

The note, released by Iran’s football federation, read: “From the ancient Persia of thousands of years ago to the civilized Iran of today, the spirit of Iran remains alive and steadfast. Thank you Los Angeles for your hospitality. We came to Los Angeles with pride, competed with honor, and leave with dignity” .

The message also thanked Iranian supporters who gave their “heart, voice and soul” for the team during their two matches at the stadium and ended with a call for peace, respect, and friendship among all nations .

Iran have spent the tournament based in Tijuana, Mexico, commuting to the U.S. for their matches because of restrictions surrounding their stay in the country
