INEC declares Lucky Aiyedatiwa winner of Ondo governorship election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially declared Lucky Aiyedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the Ondo State governorship election held on Saturday.

Aiyedatiwa secured a decisive victory, garnering 366,781 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mr. Agboola Ajayi of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 117,845 votes.

The APC dominated the election, winning all 18 local government areas of the state. The Labour Party (LP) and the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) trailed behind, securing 1,162 and 2,692 votes, respectively.

Prof. Olayemi Akinwunmi, the collation officer, announced the results at INEC’s State Headquarters in Akure.
