IGP Disu Bans Officers from Unauthorised Social Media Activities, Warns Against Integrity Breach

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has issued a directive ordering all officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force to desist from unauthorised social media activities. The order warns that such activities are capable of undermining the integrity, professionalism, and public image of the Force.

The directive reflects growing concerns over the conduct of police personnel on social media platforms, where some officers have been known to share sensitive information, engage in unprofessional conduct, or post content that brings the Force into disrepute.

Compliance is expected to be immediate. Officers found violating the directive may face disciplinary actions.
