“I Nearly Lost My Life in the Struggle Against Military Rule” – Adewale Adeoye Celebrates First Award Alongside Soyinka, Tinubu, Fela, Others

Adewale Adeoye has expressed elation after being recognised for the first time for his role in the bloody and tortuous struggle against military rule, an experience that nearly cost him his life.

He will be honoured alongside Prof Wole Soyinka, President Bola Tinubu, Chief Ayo Opadokun, Pa Alfred Ilenre, Prof Odion Akhaine, Clement Nwankwo, Dr Beko Ransome Kuti, and Fela Anikulapo Kuti, among others.

“I thank God I survived the persecution. The struggle continues,” Adeoye said.
