Gunmen abduct 7 Unijos students

Seven students of the University of Jos have been abducted by armed men from a private hostel located along the Bauchi-Ring Road in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The incident took place around 1:00am on Wednesday while the students were reportedly studying for their upcoming examination.An anonymous source from the university confirmed the incident, but provided no further details.

A student residing in the neighbourhood where the abduction occurred expressed fear and mentioned their inability to offer assistance, even though the intruders remained on-site for approximately 30 minutes before taking the victims away in a vehicle.

As of the time of this report, the identities of the victims, their academic departments, and their year of study remain unknown.

The state Police spokesman, DSP Alfred Alabo, verified the incident and stated, “We are still working to rescue the students unhurt.”
