Gunfire Erupts as Alleged Yoruba Nation Agitators Storm Oyo Govt Secretariat

A group of masked individuals in Army camouflage believed to be agitators for the Yoruba Nation reportedly entered the Oyo State Government Secretariat, leading to tension.

According to reports, armed men were strategically positioned within the secretariat, causing alarm in the vicinity.

Despite efforts by security personnel on site, the situation remained unresolved.

The identity of these masked individuals remains unknown as at the time of filing this report..

Law enforcement agencies, including the Police and other anti-crime units, swiftly responded to the scene with patrol vehicles.

Additionally, members of the Western Nigeria Security Network, also known as Amotekun were deployed to secure various entrances to the secretariat premises.

Reports indicated that a confrontation ensued between the security forces and the alleged agitators, resulting in gunfire exchanges and use of tear gas.

This development has created fears among residents in the area.
