Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has congratulated the Oba of Lagos, His Royal Majesty, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, on the occasion of his 82nd birthday.

In a statement on Tuesday, the governor described the monarch as a pillar of strength, wisdom, and discipline, who has dedicated his life to the service of the people of Lagos and Nigeria.

Sanwo-Olu noted that Oba Akiolu, who served as a distinguished police officer before ascending the throne in 2003, has continued to be a custodian of Lagos traditions and a promoter of peace, unity, and progress in the state.

He commended the monarch’s contributions to the development of Lagos, adding that his leadership and counsel have been instrumental in shaping the modern Lagos.

“On behalf of my family, the government, and the people of Lagos, I wish Olowo Eko a happy and fulfilling birthday. May God grant him many more years of good health, wisdom, and a peaceful reign,” the governor said.
