The Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has applauded the the people of the Southeast region over the refusal to join the ongoing nationwide hunger protests.

He said the decision made by the people of South-East not to join the 10-day protest shows their high level of wisdom.

He made this statement on Friday, which was monitored by The YorubaTimes.

The Governor explained that while peaceful protest is a right of the citizens, President Bola Tinubu has shown commitment to addressing the challenges facing the country.

According to his statement, “I commend our people of the South Eastern region for heeding our appeal not to join the nationwide protest. Your wisdom in recognizing the potential danger of hijackers targeting peaceful demonstrators is truly commendable. While peaceful protest is undoubtedly a right of the people, your decision to prioritize safety and stability showcases great prudence” He said.

The Imo State Governor also highlighted that the architects of the nation’s turmoil are the same forces driving the ongoing demonstrations.

He said, “It is unfortunate that those who contributed to our current economic challenges, are now the ones sponsoring protests instead of working with FG for resolution. This reaction comes simply because we have a President who is courageous enough to dismantle the entrenched cabal exploiting our common resources.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has shown compassion and determination in addressing the inherited challenges. He deserves our unwavering support as he works towards a more prosperous future. Let us stand united in this mission with dialogue, which remains the best path to achieving our demands” He mentioned.
